Welcome to Rosewinds Dairy Goats!

As a small farm located in Chillicothe, Ohio, I currently raise a herd of show quality ADGA registered Alpines, Saanens, and Experimental dairy goats with a token LaMancha doe remaining. My herd participates in ADGA plus programs consisting of Linear Appraisal and the DHIR program, I am also working on DNA typing my herd. All of my kids are raised on pasteurized milk from our herd, all of which are tested Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE) negative. I attend as many shows as possible with my family and the rest of the dairy goats. Rosewinds is just a part of something more, the Alpine, Saanen, and Experimental does reside with the Meraki herd consisting of my mother and father's Nigerians. We diverged into two herdnames in the Spring of 2018 when all of the Alpine does were transferred into my name (Alexandrea Stewart). Visit the Meraki Dairy Goats website to view the rest of the herd!

The herd once consisted of 4 breeds, the Alpines, LaManchas, Nigerians, and Boers under the herdname Flowering Goat Farm. In April of 2018 we sold out of the Boers and decided it was time for a change so we decided on the two new herdnames. I have had a love for dairy goats since 2012 when my parents purchased my first Alpine doe as a 4-H project for me. At that point in time I never imagined where dairy goats would take me in life. I began showing at ADGA shows in 2013 with my first doe, Alaina.  Saanens were added to the Rosewinds herd in 2019 and I'm currently working with a very small, but competitive herd of them. I put my focus on the quality and care of my herd over how many I have.

We attended our first ADGA National Show in 2016, then again in 2018 and 2021. 2018 was a particularly exciting year for me as it was the first time I had the Alpines in my name and I was eligible for the youth awards. Rosewinds FR Penelope was the first Rosewinds doe to ever make the ADGA National show lineup! Penelope was 13th place junior kid and my doe Tempo Aquila Roulette 1*M was 14th place 3 yr old milker and 1st place youth doe in her class. Roulette was then named the 2018 ADGA National Premier Youth Alpine Senior Doe! I was beyond thrilled when she earned her medal and wore it around her neck as the sassy doe she is! I was overwhelmed with pride for Roulette. Teaming up with Roulette I was 2nd place senior showman. Then at the end of the week I was also named the Premier Youth Alpine exhibitor, Rosewinds had a very successful first National show!

In 2021 was the first year for Rosewinds to have Alpines, Saanens, and Experimentals represented at the ADGA National show. I was filled with joy for my does as all but 2 of them earned placing ribbons in their respective lineups! I had my first ever class winner in the Saanen Junior Yearling class with Puddleduck Dalton Paisley, she went on to be the National Reserve Junior Champion Saanen! Paisley paired with Rosewinds Cosby Emeraude and McQuitty-Farm Malachi Celeena competed and placed 1st in the best 3 Junior Saanen does group class!

I hope you enjoy viewing the Rosewinds herd and thank you for your interest!
